Deciding What Type of Boiler Is Right for You

Every home, whether it is located in the tropics or a temperate zone, has its own heating needs. However, these needs vary widely according to location, time of year, and your personal budget. Boilers typically use gas or some other kind of fuel to convert water to steam, and they are a common means of meeting domestic heating needs.

If you are unfamiliar with boilers but are considering installing one in your home, the wide variety of types and models available might seem daunting. But that variety also means that, whatever your heating needs, there is probably a boiler out there designed to meet them in an energy efficient manner.

Different Needs, Different Designs

Essentially, boilers can serve two different purposes: heating your home and heating the water you use on a daily basis. Some boilers will only serve one of these purposes, whereas others can do both. Deciding what kind of boiler is right for you is a matter of determining which of these functions is most important to you.

Heat Only

While installing a boiler that provides both heat and hot water will save you space and likely reduce your monthly bills, many people are on a tight budget and only looking to replace one appliance at a time. If this is the case for you, a heat only boiler may be the ideal choice, as they are typically cheaper than combination or system boilers.

Heat and Water

On the other hand, if you do have some money to invest, installing a boiler that heats both your home and your water will save you space and potentially reduce your energy consumption. It is important to evaluate your particular needs before deciding whether to invest in a combination boiler or a system boiler.

Combination, or combi, boilers use a single unit to warm your home and provide you with hot water. Combi boilers use copper heat exchangers to heat water only as it is needed. While this frees up a lot of space in your home by eliminating the need for a bulky hot water tank, it also limits the rate at which you can use hot water. For this reason, combi boilers are great for single-person households.

Conversely, if you have a large family and expect more than one shower to be running at a time, then a system boiler might be a better choice for you. A system boiler works like a combi boiler, except that it uses a tank to store hot water, thereby increasing the capacity that can be used at once. The drawback to this is that system boilers take up more space and use more energy, as they have to keep water warm even when it is not being used.

Student Loans In United States

A loan given to a student to help him pay for higher education is termed as Student Loan. In the United States, these loans are usually given by the government.

Higher education loans differ from grants and scholarships. A student loan has to be repaid by the student after completion of his studies while grants and scholarships do not have to be repaid. Normally a student loan can be in the form of a federal loan that is given to a student or as a private loan that is given to the student and the student's parents.

Federal student loans are made directly to the students. They are given to supplement the student's personal and family resources. A federal student loan can be subsidized or unsubsidized depending on the financial need of the students. Both subsidized and unsubsidized loans are guaranteed by the United States Department of Education either directly or through guarantee agencies. Nearly all students are eligible for federal student loans which have grace period of six months. Subsidized federal student loans are given to students who have to prove their financial need for the loans. While in an unsubsidized student loan, the government does not pay the interest amount on the loan. The interest is allowed to accrue during the college and the student must pay after completion of studies.

Parents have an option of borrowing money to cover the educational expenses of higher education. This type of loan is called Parent Loan of Undergraduate Student. In this type of loan, no grace period is provided and payments start as soon as the loan is disbursed.

Private Student Loan is loan that is extended by banks and other financial institutions directly to the student. A Private Student Loan has a grace period of six months and payments have to be made after completion of the studies. There are occasions when the grace period is extended up to 12 months and this is subject to approval by the lending authority. Most private loan programs are tied to one or more financial indices such as the Wall Street Journal Prime Rate or the BBA LIBOR rate plus an overhead charge. This type loan invariably has a one time origination fee which depends upon the loan amount.

Teen Works - Four Teens Tell All - A Guide For Finding Jobs - Book Review

I just finished reading "Teen Works: Four Teens Tell All: A Guide For Finding Jobs" by Noreen E. Messina. I am heavily involved in the teen job industry as the owner of a teen job board and as such I try to read as many books on the subject as I can. My initial thought when I first pick up this book was, not another one. It seems like this is a very saturated niche. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised and found the book to be very informative and entertaining. In fact, it is one of the best books that I have read on this topic.

The book is similar to others in that it explains how to find a job, hot to write a resume, how to interview and other basic tips. What I really liked about the book is that it was actually based on the experiences of four teens and what they did to land their jobs. The book details their job search process from beginning to end and chronicles what worked best and what did not work at all. The person stories really help illustrate the basic themes of the book. The book is written in a humorous and entertaining way. It was very easy to read and once I got started I had to finish it. I really wanted to find out what was happening with the four teen job seekers. I applaud the author for presenting these topics in a fresh and fun manner.

I recommend this book to all teen job seekers. You will pick up many tips and suggestions that will ultimately help you land your next job.

Primer For Businesses Evaluating DS3 Bandwidth Costs

Before deciding on a bandwidth solution for your business there's basic fundamental questions you must be aware of. Not just what they are but also how the answers will impact your network application(s)... and most importantly the impact on potential cost of implementing that network.

Part of any business plan for installing or upgrading a computer network infrastructure is estimating potential costs .... with bandwidth requirements an obvious big chunk of the deliberation. To do this appropriately you need to know what you're getting into first. Overlook these factors ..... or make assumptions on their affect to network installation, management, and performance costs means you may end up paying more than you expected.

Here's a scenario to illustrate the message .....

You are intending to upgrade your company's computer network in the coming months basing the infrastructure on DS3 bandwidth. You are getting several quotes for adding another upstream provider, as well as trying to price new accounts. You want to know what are average costs of a DS-3's (full 45 Mbps)to end users and 100 Mbps connections?

First, there are three components of cost for upstream bandwidth that you must be aware of...

1. access, sometimes called the local loop, is the circuit between your physical location and the carrier POP (Point Of Presence)

2. port speed, which is essentially how many megs you're buying

3. equipment to interconnect between the carrier and your network.

Access price will depend on your various locations and where you can take delivery of the service. Some carriers will have "lit" buildings that will be less costly for them to serve. Generally, the farther any location you want serviced is from a POP the more your loop cost will be. The closer it is the less your cost will be. This is the most often overlooked component of any pricing exercise .... and the one that can up your costs quickly and drastically. Here's a tip ..... if you're within a reasonable distance for their POP many providers will waive the loop cost. So make sure you ask about that.

Port speed will vary by carrier, by product type, and by any specific vendor promotions ongoing at the moment. These costs are generally on the decrease overall so you should make out here .... but still ensure you compare multiple providers and negotiate for the best cost. Also make sure that provider port speed promises include a SLA (Service Level Agreement) and QoS (Quality of Service) commitment which penalizes the provider for non-compliance and protects your financial investment. Getting less bandwidth reliability than you need will impact on the performance of your intended application(s). If you learn this too late you will end up paying more through the lost productivity to your business.

Equipment costs turns to zero if you take an Ethernet connection, but typically you have to be in a "lit" building to take advantage of that. Otherwise to hang a router on a DS-3 the carrier may charge a few extra hundred dollars per month. If Ethernet connectivity is available .... grab it. It will cut your expenses dramatically. Also ask if the provider will "give" you a free router. Many do so today as sales incentive.

There you have it. The basics of what to ensure is incorporated into any deliberations on your computer network bandwidth requirements. Gloss over any of these and you will end up paying more than necessary. There are of course some more complicated and technical considerations your IT staff will ponder. But to make business sense at least the above must be your starting point.

Should you like to save even more in the deliberation process (time, effort and money) I suggest using the services of a no cost consultant such as DS3 Bandwidth Solutions who can navigate the maze on your behalf. They'll do all the research and negotiations for you .... and simplify your involvement to a less stressful approve/disapprove. That just makes even more business sense.

Paid To Play Online Games - In As Little As A Few Days With These 4 Special Tips!

You are about to learn how you can be paid to play online games and get started today with these 4 special tips!

Let's get one thing straight. You can get paid to play games online, but there are two ways to do it:

1. Play in card games and tournaments and win prizes

2. Test video games for game developers

Playing card games and winning prizes is pretty hard. It is not a safe way to get paid to play online games. Any site that tries to sell you a program like this is total scam.

This article is about #2: testing video games and getting paid as a quality assurance (QA) game tester. You are going to learn 4 special tips to find and get hired for these jobs---and how you can start looking today!

Also, the upward income of game testers who get paid to play online games is around $120 an hour. MMORPGs are a big deal. World of Warcraft has 8 million users. Shipping a game with bugs costs millions of dollars to recall and fix. Paying a professional game tester to play their game and find bugs saves them millions of dollars in costly recalls.

Tip 1: Look where the action is

Make a list of all the game developers you can (like Sega, Microsoft, EA, 2K sports etc) and bookmark their websites. Then, check them every few days and look for job postings. If you do this for a days or weeks, you should spot your first job opening soon enough. There are lots of games being made.

Tip 2: Find out who is responsible for hiring

Get the first and last name of the person in charge of hiring. You want to get to know this person on a semi-personal basis. Send him (or her) a personalized letter followed by a phone call. Remember you are there to test games. No education is required, but you must sell your ability to:

1. Communicate clearly

2. Spot details

3. Play for long hours

Tip 3: Offer to work for free

You can get paid to play online games. In fact you can make a good living testing video games. But you need to start somewhere. If you offer to work for free you will have an easier time getting hired for your first job, especially when you have no experience.

Do a good job and you will have a great addition for your resume. Plus you will have a great reference and a source for future work.

Tip 4: Stand out

Send them a unique letter. Mail an empty game case with a plastic bug in it. Put a note that says "Don't let your name game get ruined by bugs, give me a call..." That would make them remember you!

Now you know where to look, and how to get started. The only thing stopping you now is yourself. If you really want to get paid to play online games you will go out there and make it happen. Best of luck, and happy gaming.

Hot Pursuit by Suzanne Brockmann

Book #15 in the Troubleshooter series Reviewed by Marisa O'Neill Publisher: Ballantine 4 stars

Dear Reader,

Short Review: Hot Pursuit t is the latest book in the Troubleshooter series. For me that was enough to go out and buy the book. What? That's not enough for you? OK then, read the long review.

Long Review: I've made no secret of the fact that I'm a huge fan of Suzanne Brockmann's romantic suspense books, particularly her Troubleshooter Series. I will also say that while I eagerly await each new book in the series (I purchase the hard covers), I read each book with extremely high expectations and however unfair that might be, I expect these books to be great. There, I said it out loud, that's what I want. So, after picking up Hot Pursuit, I sat down and read it cover to cover in one sitting, and it was great. In all honesty I'm not sure if it was great because, well, I love the way Ms. Brockmann writes, or because the book is centered on two beloved characters - Sam Starrett and Alyssa Locke. What ever the reason, and I suspect it might take me a re-read to discover the answer, I fell in love with her characters as I always do. For me Hot Pursuit, as in all of Brockmann's books, is about the characters; the characters drive the train. The mystery to be solved is interesting, yes, but again, its how the characters relate to each other and how they attack the 'mission' that is intriguing.

In Hot Pursuit, we find Alyssa Locke and her husband Sam Starrett in New York for an easy assignment. Both Alyssa and Sam are employees of Troubleshooters Inc., one of the best private security companies in the world. It seems a New York State Assemblywoman has been receiving serious hate mail and it's up to Alyssa and her team to teach the Assembylwoman and her staff some simple self-defense techniques and beef up their office security. Sounds simple. In fact Sam and Alyssa take their young son along thinking perhaps they'll get in some sightseeing in New York while they are there. Of course sightseeing is definitely taken off the menu when an old serial killing nemesis called The Dentist goes gunning for Alyssa and young women are being murdered.

Hot Pursuit brings back many characters from this much beloved bestselling series, in particular Navy SEAL's, Izzy, Tony, Lopez and Gillman. Jules Cassidy and his husband, actor Robin Chadwick, are also prominently featured. Ah, it's like coming home, the joy of getting re-acquainted with much loved characters. And that is the beauty of this series, as a reader, you can always go home again, and it's a welcoming place. Ms. Brockmann has a unique way of allowing her characters to grow and change and we still end up loving them, warts and all. With each new book, with each new character, we still want to know what's happening to the rest of the Troubleshooters and Navy SEAL's she's introduced to us over the years. So yes, Sam and Alyssa, two characters that have been with us almost from the beginning have gone from an adversarial relationship, to lovers, to partners, to husband and wife to parents. And we've had the great good fortune to experience their journey. In each successive book you see the respect and love they have for each other and the work that goes into their relationship. Being able to have this relationship evolve book after book while keeping the characters interesting, the story line fresh and the suspense suspenseful is the work of an author who not only knows her characters but knows how to tell a great story.

As per usual, it wouldn't be a Troubleshooter's book without the introduction of new characters. Ms. Brockmann invariably has at least two romantic story lines going at one time, with 2 different heroes and 2 different heroines. She always appeases us by giving us at least one happy ending. Thank goodness. Of course, that leaves us with one Hero and Heroine who have unfinished business. And Ms. Brockmann is never predictable, because you never know when or if that hero or heroine you've come to know and perhaps grown to love will get their happy ending. (For you fans, need I mention Decker and Sophia in Dark of Night? - wasn't that both a shock and a delicious, unexpected, well worth the wait surprise?). In Hot Pursuit we get to meet Jenn, the Assemblywoman's assistant. She's not your drop dead gorgeous heroine, she's a regular size 12 gal, who's a bit too tall, most likely shops at Marshall's and wears glasses. Her hero is the unlikely and very handsome Navy SEAL Gillman. With his own internal issues and struggles he's all about expiration dating, that his until The Dentist gets in his space and it gets personal. Both story lines, Sam and Alyssa the established couple that have a child, and Jenn and Gillman the new couple out for 14 days of great sex, ring true - the dialogue between them and the words left unsaid give all four of these people a believability. Giving them this believability gives you a desire as a reader to know more about them.

So dear reader, if you're looking for a romantic suspense that is filled with characters that are not only personable but down to earth real, with great dialogue and a sense of coming home to characters you already love or will meet for the first time and begin to love, with a spot on narrative and a suspenseful mystery, might I suggest Hot Pursuit.

Yours truly,

Marisa

The Green Home Wave is Coming!

Many homeowners are aware of the major benefits of green homes but there is another spectrum of benefits most will never be aware of. It is estimated that approximately 10% of the new homes built in the coming years will be green homes so I hope you feel the importance of learning about them.

First, what exactly is a "green" home? It is actually quite simply. A green home is just a home that much consideration has went into regarding materials and construction methods. The emphasis tends to lie with materials that are free of residual toxins and are sustainable. The logic behind this is that most people have dirtier air inside their homes than that which is outside. Cleaning up the chemicals that go into creating the materials goes along way in preventing pollution inside the home.

Another focus of a green home is to design a home that uses less energy or relies on renewable energy. Frequently green homes are at least partially powered by solar energy and typically use sun light for heating and lighting the home as much as possible. Not only can sunlight be used for heat and light sources but can also be used to heat water for domestic use as well.

Green home construction does not stop at the previously listed benefits. Many insurance companies are falling in line to encourage green construction as much as they possibly can. You can now receive discounts from your homeowners insurance to your mortgage fees to add incentive to green construction. As more people start to look toward green construction, businesses will continually add programs that are green construction focused.

For the previously listed reasons, green homes typically sell for more money when they hit the market. Many homeowners prefer to live in green homes and would rather not have to pay additional energy fees if they know they have a choice. Since the government has introduced legislation that would encourage green construction in the way of tax credits and other incentives, more home buyers are being pointed to choose green construction.

As far as features go, green homes offer higher efficiency appliances, including plumbing and electrical systems, as well as drought resistance landscaping to reduce water consumption. They also use materials that are renewable meaning that glass that is collected at recycling points are used again, instead of filling our land fills. Insulation that is either organic or recycled is used along with paints and finishing compounds that do not emit polluting chemicals.

In fact, the way they are building green homes today frequently meets ADA requirements for handicap accessible homes. Green homes typically feature a flat entry way, no stairs, wider doors and other features that allow people with differing abilities and the elderly to easily negotiate their energy efficient home.

Book Review - Is Your House Making You Overweight, Sick Or Tired? By Margaret Rouse Shontz

The Impact of Your External Diet

After the family was plagued with recurring illnesses, breathing problems, headaches, and various hospitalizations Margaret Rouse Shontz determined to find the cause of their symptoms. Through her research she discovered the relationship of improper electricity to stress, insomnia, ill heath, and weight gain. As a result of her study she has written the book "Is Your House Making You Overweight, Sick or Tired?" In her book Shontz set out to alert the reader that an improper external diet has a big effect on the human body.

He twenty year study and the observations she made in her research brought her to the conclusion that the major cause of ill health is from external causes. The book is dedicated to getting the reader to think about how these externals affect and impact your health and well being.

Shontz includes a disclaimer to make the reader aware that she is not an electrician nor a technician or a health professional. Much of the book is devoted to experiences that demonstrate how the body works electrically and the related symptoms which may result with improper electricity. Although the book is often quite technical I found myself engrossed in reading the concepts being considered.

"Is Your House Making You Overweight, Sick or Tired?" is a valuable resource tool and provides proactive steps to be taken in light of the "External Diet" and insuring a proper electricity to insure health. This is truly remarkable approach to alternative medicine. Margaret Rouse Shontz may be ahead of her time in bringing this valuable information to the forefront.

The Philological Needs of Man

In life we all have our needs and wants in every angle in all circumstances. And when we say wants, it convey to us the meaning of relativity in which every man stands for its own wants. In needs, in some point of our life, we have the common ground with its sense that we cannot be able to live if our need is not being sustained. The following are the things that we ought to know in which they are one of the things that keep us going:

Need for Food

Man cannot live without food or anything that sustains the body's condition. The need for food reaches significance according to the degree of satisfaction or dissatisfaction of the need. It is because it depends on the person on how intense the degree of its need for food based on different cases and this kind of need is cyclical in which after when satisfaction is attained, the cycle will normally turn again for the craving until when the bodily processes requires.

Need for Water

The need for water is also cyclical because the craving of it will be present again after drinking. If we just have to think of water, water is almost everywhere, I mean it merely surrounds us but in places like desert, water is really in a status of intense need. And just like for the need foe food, water can be a great factor in controlling our behavior.

Need for Sleep and Rest

The need for sleep and rest is very indispensable for our body to keep on operating in the right way. when a person is engaged in a physical activity, normally he tends to encouter fatigue - be it physically or mentally. Thus, to have a rest must be done for us not to get ill.

Need for Activity

Our body needs activity to expend energy. Like for instance, exercise is a good activity to keep our body healthy because once we're not engage in some forms of physical activity, we may tend to feel boredom. And so that is why we really have to experience the life's necessities in order for us to have a sound mind and sound body.

Sex Needs

Sex need is more incentive-related than the basic meaning of need. for man can survive for quite a long period of time without having sex unlike for the need for food that when a person cannot satisfy hunger, death may be the worst case result.

In some culture, this kind of drive is controlled by sex taboos and secretiveness. Thus, there is a need for more sex education for the people to get educated about sex so that sex drives can be viewed positively within the idea of sexual morality.

These are the things that a man needs and hopefully this article will bring the idea of enlightenment to each and everyone of us.
